As for musical details, these speakers use 1-3/16″ balanced dome tweeters, and Kenwood’s proprietary Sound Field Enhancer which improves response in the 3000 to 4000 Hz range.

These speakers can handle up to 80 watts RMS, and up to 360 watts at peak. They have 58Hz to 24kHz frequency response and 88 dB sensitivity, which is relatively low compared to most 6X8 speakers we listed here. Still, these speakers will sound good when running off your headunit, but they’ll truly come into their own when hooked to a powerful amplifier.

If I had to pick some cons for these speakers, I’d have to say that they’re a bit lacking in terms of bass reproduction. Don’t get me wrong, these speakers will sound way better than any stock speakers but if you’re basshead, I’m afraid these speakers aren’t for you.

One of my favorite moments during a car audio installation is replacing worn out OEM speakers with aftermarket ones. In the case of JBL’s Stadium GTO860C premium car speakers, the night and day difference these babies make is incredible.

These speakers are very well-built and it really shows. From the hefty magnet to the oversized voice coil with shimmering copper, you can see and feel that the build quality is far superior to the standard stock speakers and even some aftermarket speakers – now just imagine how much better these speakers sound compared to factory-installed speakers that have been filling your ears with compromised audio for so long.

These 6X8 component speakers come equipped with glass-fiber woofer cones coupled with hi-roll rubber surround for long lasting performance. Due to the glass-fiber inherent nature, these woofers are rigid enough to hold their shape when the power’s cranked up, yet lightweight so you don’t need a ton of power to drive these woofers either.

Furthermore, these speakers use edge-driven PEI polymer dome tweeters for a smoother, more open response and minimal distortion at high volume levels. Each tweeter also features a level control button so you can adjust the brightness to your taste.

Because these are component speakers, the image wouldn’t be complete without the versatile crossovers that make your music sound real.
